Each month we honor an employee or a volunteer for their hard work and dedication. They receive a certificate of appreciation and a Walmart Gift card made possible by a donation from Sharleen Riemenschneider of Edward Jones! This month, we took the advice of a good majority of the folks and used it for dog/cat food. Again, it was another situation where it's just not possible to pick just one. May was another challenging month, while operating under a Limited Access Policy, volunteering seemed to be challenging right? Nope. This amazing community and the folks that support the shelter didn't bat an eye. We were so uplifted by the folks that reached out and helped us by whatever means that they could. Some went so far out of their way, some even had much needed supplies delivered to us from out of the area. It was amazing. It literally kept us going. During the challenging and yes, sometimes very overwhelming times that we all face, we realize just how much our community supports us and we truly appreciate you all. Thank you to ALL OF YOU. To every single one of you who support us. You are the McCook Humane Society's "Volunteer of the Month" for MAY 2020! We appreciate each and every one of these wonderful people. We can't take care of our temporarily homeless furry friends without our awesome employees and volunteers!
