It's easy to fall in love with an adorable puppy or kitten; however, don't get a pet on a whim! Raising a pet is a lifetime commitment. Pets often arrive at animal shelters - not because of the pet - but because of changes at the pet's former home.
The McCook Humane Society invites prospective adopters to visit the dogs and cats at our shelter and meet the pets "in person."
Our goal is to find appropriate, responsible and loving homes for the many pets in our care. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption if it would not be in the best interest of the animal and/or person involved.
The cost of adoption is $50 for dogs and puppies; $25 for cats and kittens.
Ask about our Spay and Neuter Program... We feel very strongly that spaying and neutering is the only way we will be able to put a stop to the pet overpopulation. There will be a Spay or Neuter fee if the animal is not already currently altered.
