ANNOUNCEMENT in regards to COVID-19

We here at the McCook Humane Society have been closely monitoring this situation and the impact it is having in our community. As a precautionary measure, the McCook Humane Society has decided to help ensure the health and safety of our staff and guests by closing to the public until further notice. We are committed to an active and precautionary approach to halt the spread of this and any illness at our shelter and in our community, while still maintaining our mission in finding permanent homes for our temporarily homeless friends and reuniting the lost with their families.

We will be periodically checking the messages for emergencies, and making arrangements for essential business during normal business hours of Monday through Friday from 2pm until 5pm and Saturdays from Noon until 4pm.

Please know that we are actively discussing ways to stay on top of this situation and constantly monitoring it. We will provide updates as necessary, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns. By continuing to show kindness, and remaining calm, we will get through this. We thank you for your help and support in this!

Adopt-a-Kennel Program

Our Adopt-a-Kennel program is a great way for businesses and individuals to show the community their support for our area’s homeless animals. It makes a great holiday gift and is a wonderful way to honor the memory of a loved one. The Adopt a Kennel Program is a perfect idea for a classroom project and provides the children with a class mascot!
Each kennel will have a brightly displayed sign with the adopter’s name proudly displayed on the kennel! Each month we will list a “featured sponsor,” and will promote it on all of our advertising media. You can participate by adopting a cat or dog kennel by donating the following amounts...

  • 1 month $ 25.00 Donation
  • 6 months $125.00 Donation (one month free)
  • 1 year $250.00 Donation (two months free)

To Adopt a Kennel, complete and submit the handy form below, or download the PDF here, print, and mail or drop off at the shelter with your donation.
